Hugging a corner of a forested natural area in West Portland, we honored the surrounding forest with a shady understory of bold textures and bright greens of Pacific Northwest natives. We  used local  juniper, boulders and crushed rock for a soft sensory experience and created a hillside perennial meadow to be viewed from the expansive deck nestled in the canopy.
