For this estate property in Southwest Portland we designed calming texture-heavy shade gardens around the main lawn and patios, an herb-filled kitchen garden at the mud room and flowering meadow bordering the large upper play lawn. Our clients love growing food and are invested in improving habitat value on their land so we incorporated fruiting trees and shrubs within the new landscape and planted an experimental native hillside garden that is beginning to flourish with an abundance of edible yarrow, elderberry, currants and huckleberry.
