With a new home and chapter in our client's lives, we leaned into shaping their community compound with gardens and outdoor gathering spaces. A layered screen of sheared redwood trees and a granite boulder retaining wall provided separation from the street and nestled the home into a dynamic woodland garden. 

While the primary planting design emphasized a native palette with layered seasonal texture, the client’s key desire was to have a lush cutting garden in the central courtyard. The garden creates a gorgeous live art installation as every room looks out onto its subtle seasonal shifts.
