SPIRIT COVE

Simply sublime. Spirit Cove is a beloved family property at the farthest NW corner of Washington overlooking two different Canadian mountain ranges. Situated on a secluded cove on San Juan Island, this 50 acre property is layered with a multitude of ecotones: temperate forest, grassland, wetlands, historic fruit tree orchard, and coastal edge. The family have been steadfast stewards of the property for the past 25 years, and brought us on to refresh landscape areas surrounding the residences and main circulation corridors to align with the native environs. We are working with local stone yards, custom furniture builders, and small producers to craft new hardscape, outdoor furniture, lighting and wayfinding. 

This installation and establishment process will continue over the next few years to ensure the success of renovated areas interwoven with the larger mosaic of the dynamic property. And with a family wedding approaching in 2026, we’re catering our designs to amplify the theatrical sequencing of the celebration and it’s setting amongst the various gardens.
